ABOUT JONATHAN HORNE

MEET JONATHAN HORNE

Q: How did you get into the construction industry?

A: Before the age of 5, I knew I wanted to build. As I progressed through school I narrowed my focus to Civil Engineering, ultimately graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee. My entire career has revolved around my passion to build and I still get up every day with the excitement I had as a 5 year old watching construction equipment.

Q: What type of projects do you like to build?

A: Over my career, I have been involved in projects in the hospitality, infrastructure, retail, educational, religious, and industrial sectors. However, in my opinion, it is not the type of project that gets me excited, but the team I get to work with. All types of projects get me excited as long as I can share my passion and excitement for construction with the whole team.

Q: What is important to you about the industry?

A: Quality. Quality is the lasting impression that lingers long after the price and time is forgotten. Quality is not just about providing a good product, but providing the right product. Through true alignment with an owner/developer, our project teams must understand the needs and wants and ensure that we delivery the right product that exceeds their expectations.

Q: What is the most important trait you try to instill with your team?

A: Continuous improvement. We are never perfect, but we should always strive to be better tomorrow than we were yesterday. This can apply to how we perform a task, how we construct a specific detail, or even how we handle a specific situation. As long as we are learning and advancing, we will always be relevant and excel in what we do.
